all mugavu wood products are made with love by micheal and team in uganda. micheal is a skilled wood carver who learned this trade from a grandfather he never knew and whose work he never saw. humble and quiet, micheal prides himself on creating a quality product that shows the beauty of his village's native tree. he also works to train others, so they too have an opportunity to generate income for their families. mugavu trees are found in the eastern parts of the african continent. the ugandan government regulates the sale of its wood for artisan purposes so that forests are sustainably guarded and maintained. note that each family is unique so wood tone and color may vary.
