my connection to brasil
My husband is Brasilian, so I've spent quite a lot of time in this beautiful country. Brasil is the largest country in South America, even larger than the US, minus Alaska and Hawaii. I’ve had the privilege of traveling to multiple parts of Brasil, each with their own unique experience of culture and history.

Brasil is the largest country in South America boasting the greatest amount of biodiversity on the planet, containing 70% of all the plant and animal species ever recorded. The landscape includes the dense Amazon Rainforest, Pantanal Wetlands, Cerrado highlands, and beautiful beaches along its coastline. With the great combination of indigenous, Portuguese, African, and European influence, Brasil has a rich cultural heritage reflected in its art, music, and traditions. While it has the largest share of wealth in the entire continent, social inequality and political instability are part of Brasilian life.

Lucas + family
Lucas, his parents and sister all work together to create their stunning wooden products. Together he and I designed the Divino piece and mixed each color to create the vast and beautiful colors of the city in which Lucas lives
bruna + family
Bruna and her family have created their traditional works of art for generations. Each piece is handcrafted and painted to reflect the ornate baroque style of long ago. Bruna lives with her family in the quaint and gorgeous small city of Tiradentes, Brasil.
