we're always so amazed by the jewelry our artisans make in uganda and thought it would be sweet to create a jewelry making kit that both adults and kids can enjoy. Each make your own bracelet and necklace set comes with 4 yards of stretchy cord, four eye needles for threading beads, and a bag of colorful and beautiful handcrafted paper beads and gold beads to mix up the look. There is enough material included to make multiple bracelets and necklaces.

Ugandans are avid newspaper readers and at the end of the day, nothing goes to waste!  Old newspapers are collected, cut, sized, shaped and dyed into beautiful jewelry, each part of the process taking place by skilled (men and) women!  one little world partners with an amazing organization that employs over 400 women, providing them with not only the means to generate income that pay for schools fees for their children, but also, to seek medical care when necessary.  Minded on the latest fashion trends, each piece tells the story of Uganda, with each and every paper bead.
