These colorfully bold hot mats are sustainably made using bottlecaps and scraps of kitenge cloth.

Mats could be used on either side. 

All hot mats are one of a kind and fabric patterns/colors will vary.

how to: Use with hot pots and bowls.  Heat-safe, although please do not place in oven.  Wipe with a damp cloth when needed.

    about the artisan

    Ms. Jean is a one little world artisan partner but also a single mother to three boys.  She regularly visits the local bars and storefronts in town to gather her bottle caps, which she later upcycles into these unique hot mats.  Using remnants of kitenge cloth, Ms. Jean bundles the cloth around the bottlecap and stitches the kitenge in place.  She then sews each kitenge bottlecap together to create her finished product.
